Overview

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join a growing civil engineering business. This is a key role within the pre-construction team, responsible for producing accurate and competitive tenders while working closely with internal teams, designers, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

· Review and assess tender documentation and client information

· Evaluate the commercial and technical viability of tenders

· Identify client requirements and develop the most competitive and compliant offer

· Identify risks, ambiguities, and value-engineering opportunities and discuss with Clients / Engineers

· Identify temporary works and design requirements

· Conduct site visits and engage with key subcontractors and suppliers

· Work closely with designers on Design & Build contracts

· Take off quantities and calculate net costs from first principles

· Liaise with Clients and Client Designers as required

· Collaborate with Commercial, Procurement, Design, Contracts, Plant, and Senior Management teams

· Develop construction methods, programmes, and cost-effective resource plans

· Ensure tenders are completed accurately and submitted on time

· Support tender reviews and risk evaluation processes

· Handover successful tenders to the Contracts Department upon award

Skills & Knowledge

· Strong financial and commercial awareness

· Pre-contract and tender management experience

· Ability to assess risk and programme constraints

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
