Semi Senior Accountant

We are working with an accountancy practice who are on the lookout for a Semi-Senior Accountant who will be responsible for hands-on accounts preparation for a variety of clients within the practice. This role suits a newly qualified accountant or someone with a couple years' experience who wants to continue building strong technical experience and be actively involved in producing accounts from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
• Complete management accounts, VAT returns, and bookkeeping where required.
• Prepare supporting working papers and ensure all files meet compliance standards.
• Assist with corporation tax computations and personal tax returns.
• Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
• Work closely with senior staff for guidance and technical support.
• Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail throughout all work.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or AAT Qualified is preferred
• Previous experience working in an accountancy practice is essential.
• Strong, hands-on experience preparing accounts from incomplete records to final accounts.
• Good understanding of accounting standards and compliance requirements.
• Competent with cloud software such as Xero, Sage, or Quick Books.
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients.
• Ability to manage your own portfolio tasks and meet deadlines
