Night Operations Manager In Training
Night Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training (NOASM-IT) will gain hands‑on experience in the key responsibilities and functions of a Night Operations Assistant Store Manager at The Home Depot. The NOASM‑IT will undergo a comprehensive training program that includes hands‑on experience, mentorship, and leadership development. During the training period (up to six weeks) the trainee will learn to execute Manager on Duty duties, oversee overnight freight operations, collaborate with Night Replenishment Managers, Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers, and field teams, and develop strategies that boost sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- 10% – Customer
Experience:
Supervise associates in the selling effort, lead GET culture, set the example, drive customer service and associate engagement, and resolve customer concerns promptly. - 15% – Operations Management:
Perform opening, closing, MOD and other whole‑store focus responsibilities; adhere to company policies, maintain SOPs, ensure safety compliance, and mitigate shrink. - 15% – Safety:
Ensure personal and associate safety and hazmat procedures and Safety Matters guidelines are followed at all times. - 10% – Sales and Productivity:
Work with partners to plan merchandise placement, signing, and support stock integrity; learn store equipment, systems, and daily financial operations. - 50% – Training and Preparation for Assistant Manager:
Participate in a structured training program covering operations, customer service, sales & profitability, policies, staffing, scheduling, inventory management, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
- This position typically reports to the Store Manager.
- This position has no direct reports.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
- Requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
- Located in a comfortable indoor area; conditions may produce mild discomfort on occasion.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
