Pay Rate: $50/hr
Hopkinton MA is seeking a dedicated Intensive Special Needs Teacher to support a specialized classroom serving a caseload of 8 students with the assistance of 6 paraprofessionals. This role focuses on enhancing the educational experience of students with disabilities and supporting their development within the general curriculum. The Intensive Special Needs Teacher reports to the Principal and the Director of Student Services, and provides direction to Teaching Assistants as assigned.
Key Responsibilities- Recommend and implement accommodations and modifications tailored to student needs to promote success in the general curriculum.
- Provide instruction in foundational academic and life skills appropriate to students' functioning levels, ages, and school community expectations.
- Collaborate with related service providers to coordinate programming and ensure appropriate accommodations within the general curriculum and school environment.
- Work with community agencies as needed to support appropriate programming and transitions.
- Apply knowledge of curriculum content, behavioral strategies, and ABA principles to plan lessons, deliver instruction, and align assessments.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments using data-driven practices.
- Maintain professional competence through participation in professional development and activities required for re-certification.
- Contribute to team, grade-level, department, and district goals; attend faculty, committee, and district-wide meetings as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification;
