Overview
The machinist operator will be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC machines and other machining equipment to fabricate precision parts. You will be expected to work independently and efficiently, utilizing advanced technical knowledge and skills to ensure the accurate and timely production of high-quality components. This position requires a deep understanding of machining processes, materials, and machine maintenance to meet production goals and ensure high standards of safety and quality.
2ND SHIFT 2:30pm - 11:00PM
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines and other machining equipment to fabricate precision components according to blueprints and specifications.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure parts meet exact specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to machine operations, tooling, or part quality.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment to ensure safety and adherence to company standards.
- Inspect finished parts using various measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as necessary.
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to improve processes, resolve production issues, and meet project deadlines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Train and mentor junior machinists or operators as needed to support team development.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in machining with advanced skills in CNC operation.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong knowledge of various machining processes, including milling, turning, grinding, and drilling.
- Ability to set up and operate CNC machines, lathes, and other machine shop equipment.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in machining operations.
- Familiarity with using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to lift/handle/maneuver up to 35lbs. for extended periods of time.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of safety practices and machine maintenance.
- Experience with both manual and CNC machining.
- Certification in machining or manufacturing processes (e.g., NIMS, CNC programming).
- Familiarity with manufacturing software or machine-specific software (e.g., CAD/CAM).
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment with high-quality standards (automotive, aerospace, or similar industries).
- Leadership or mentoring experience in a machining environment.
