Position Summary
The IT / Network Administrator is responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance, and support of the company’s network and information systems infrastructure. This role ensures secure, reliable, and efficient network operations while supporting production, safety, quality, and business systems in a manufacturing environment. The position plays a key role in continuous improvement initiatives and technology projects that positively impact productivity and overall financial performance.
Key Responsibilities Network & Infrastructure Support- Set up, configure, maintain, and support internal and external network environments.
- Administer network systems including switches, routers, load balancers, VoIP systems, data center and wiring closet equipment, copper and fiber cabling, and power protection systems.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect corporate data and systems.
- Install, configure, and support network devices, hardware, and related technologies.
- Support new employee IT onboarding, including workstation setup and network access.
- Coordinate decentralized information systems and monitor equipment utilization.
- Provide on-call technical support to users and IT team members as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of the network environment and cross-train others as needed.
- Order and manage technical office equipment such as laptops and peripherals.
- Lead and support IT and network-related projects, including technology upgrades and facility improvements (e.g., Safety and Quality camera systems).
- Support production and support teams by improving information flow and data visibility to enhance operational decision-making.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using performance metrics (such as OEE) to improve productivity and reduce waste and scrap.
- Maintain IT-related spare parts information to support inventory optimization and reduction of obsolete stock.
- Support IT transition planning and execution for major projects and system changes.
- Experience in network administration and IT infrastructure support.
- Strong understanding of network security, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
- Ability to support both operational IT needs and project-based initiatives.
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to provide on-call support as needed.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of VoIP systems, data centers, and structured cabling.
- Project management experience related to IT or network systems.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Network+, CCNA) are a plus.
