Overview
The respiratory therapist is responsible for assisting, evaluating, and maintaining quality patient care from infants to elderly, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, and providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. The respiratory therapist should maintain a positive working relationship with staff, physicians, LIPs, and ancillary departments.
Accountability to Studer Philosophies and Principles- HCAPS Patient Perception
- Hourly Rounding with intention
- Bedside Shift Report
- AIDET
- Daily Huddles
Essential and nonessential functions duties as assigned.
Required SkillsProven strong clinical skills and strong communication skills.
Minimum Education- Graduate from an Approved Respiratory Therapy School
- Must hold current license by the state of Kentucky as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the field of pulmonary and/or rehabilitation preferred
- BLS certification – American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider) required, must be current
- ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications or within 6 months of employment
