4000 Fort Campbell Blvd, Suite G-4, Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Position type:
Full-Time/Regular. STGi is currently seeking a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) to provide services at our Community Based Outpatient Clinic.

Job Summary

The Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) will be assigned to the Mental Health Service of the Hopkinsville VA clinic. The selected candidate will provide care‑management services to referrals, including comprehensive assessments, referral management, watchful waiting, and care‑management for depression, among other important duties.

Essential Functions
  • Provides education to patients, family members, and significant others.
  • Consults with and serves as a resource for other professional personnel concerning the need for, evaluation of, and development of psychological services.
  • May be asked to assist in the selection, training, and supervision of staff at lower grades within the assigned program area.
  • Willingly accepts additional and special assignments that are necessary to meet program goals or Veteran needs.
  • Completes all clinical charting and documentation required by the VA in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Responsible for collaboration with the PACT team for the provision of mental health services to enrolled and unassigned patients presenting for care.
  • Assists in coordinating and implementing technology and training regarding the use of telehealth across sites of care.
  • Prepares timely summaries of collected data for the direct supervisor.
  • Consults on management duties as assigned.
  • Supports unlicensed staff as assigned.
  • Coordinates programming within both mental health and primary care programs in coordination with program managers and discipline supervisors.
  • May be involved in research activities, especially related to program evaluation responsibilities.
  • May manage the work of various clinical programs and their staff, ensuring systematic assignment of work and adherence to STGi and VA guidelines/standards.
  • May manage program monitors and outcome measurements using data‑driven quality assurance processes if assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Preferred 1–3 years of experience practicing Mental Health Counseling.
  • Experience in an outpatient care environment is preferred.
  • Current and unrestricted Kentucky license to independently practice mental health counseling, including diagnosis and treatment; must comply with all state requirements and regulations.
  • Ability to set realistic, measurable education goals for patients, taking into account patient/family needs, level of understanding, and available local resources.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and excellent computer maneuverability.
  • Exceptional diplomatic communication skills and experience in handling difficult patient situations.
  • Detail oriented and able to multi‑task.
Required Education
  • Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
  • Possess Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Military Training Network (MTN).
Working Conditions /

Physical Requirements
  • Moderate physical activity; requires handling of average‑weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
  • Required to respond to any medical emergency within the clinic where a fast walk or immediate action may be necessary to provide assistance.
