Overview
To ensure the delivery of competent, high quality clinical care in a caring compassionate environment.
Responsibilities- Answers routine questions.
- Takes accurate messages.
- Operation of telephone.
- Handles routine questions on department operations.
- Receives complaints and aware of how to initiate protocol.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills.
- Orientation to hospital campus and ability to provide accurate directions.
- Demonstrates written and oral communication skills.
- Attentive to details.
- Plans, organizes, gathers and assembles data.
- Demonstrates knowledge of common formats for correspondence and reports.
- Use of department specific equipment.
- Accurately opens, sorts, and routes mail.
- Monitors inventory and orders supplies.
- Completes Inpatient orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manages inventory well.
- Sustains adequate inventory of controlled and non-controlled drugs.
- Documents drug transactions accurately.
- Demonstrates accountability and responsibility with Pharmacy equipment and software.
- Oversees third party reimbursement and coverage for Outpatient prescriptions consistent with insurances, regulatory agencies and hospital policy.
- Provides a positive and professional representation of the organization.
- Promotes culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention.
- Maintains hospital standards for a clean and quiet patient environment to maintain a positive patient care experience.
- Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice.
- Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.
- Maintains compliance with organization's policies for handling confidential patient information.
- Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.
- Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, and local requirements, and TJC standards and/or standards from other accrediting bodies.
- Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum
Work Experience:
Problem solving, customer service and reception duties, preferable in a clinical setting. - Required Licenses [Kentucky, United States] Pharmacy Technician;
Kentucky, National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB)
