Summary
The Fit Future Youth Sport Coach will be supervised by the RAC Program Manager under the direction of the District Facilities Use Coordinator in conjunction with the Youth Programs Coordinator. This position is responsible for the effective implementation of team sports programming for Fit Future sports. Coaches will plan and execute team and player skill building processes and teach the basic rules and fundamental skills of the selected sport.
This position will also assist in end of season tournament operations. A core component of this program is connecting with youth in a positive way through sports and the goals will be framed through the lens of youth development.
- Organize practice plans and lead drills.
- Coach games on Sundays and oversee weekday practices.
- Attend all necessary training and skill sessions before and during the season.
- Develop game strategies and manage players and coaching staff.
- Scheduling and communication with families about games and traveling
- Fundamentals, rules, and basic strategies of football
- Age-appropriate coaching methods and skill progressions for athletes.
- Principles of safe practice planning, conditioning, and injury prevention.
- School district and middle school & high school athletic policies and procedures.
- Equity, Inclusion, and Cultural competency in athletics.
- Previous coaching experience in flag football or related sports is preferred.
- Strong understanding of football fundamentals and youth coaching techniques.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate young athletes.
- Experience using scheduling software
- Head Coach Stipend: $30 per hr
- Assistant Coach Stipend: $20 per hr
