Overview

The Quality Engineering Support Specialist provides critical support across Quality Engineering functions—including manufacturing quality, sterility assurance, and supplier quality—and may lead projects and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for conducting investigations, supporting validation activities, and ensuring compliance with established quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Quality Engineering functions related to manufacturing, sterility assurance, and supplier quality; may lead select projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Lead investigations into product and supplier nonconformances, as well as process nonconformance issues, thoroughly documenting findings within the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system.
  • Execute CAPA activities, including root cause analysis, investigations, product/process disposition, and effectiveness checks with strong attention to detail.
  • Participate in the review and disposition of non-conforming product or controlled process inputs, including Product Quality Review Board (PQRB) activities, returns, and complaints.
  • Support validation efforts by reviewing and approving data sheets, drafting validation protocols, and documenting results in validation reports.
  • Conduct process and safety audits and ensure proper documentation of findings.
  • Assist with Change Management activities, including updating Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and related documentation.
  • Perform product acceptance testing, quality inspections, data entry, and data corrections accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide support for environmental monitoring investigations, documentation of quality inspections for controlled suppliers, or activities related to the Approved Supplier List.
  • Identify, support, and help implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a quality resource on assigned projects.
  • Mentor or train team members as needed.
Required

Skills & Qualifications Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional education may substitute for experience.
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality control.
  • Background in Microbiology or Biology preferred.
  • ASQ certification preferred.
Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; basic Excel skills required.
  • Technical writing experience.
  • Strong investigation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with CAPA processes and methodologies.
  • Experience in medical device or laboratory testing preferred.
Safety &

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move or lift objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent (75%+) periods of standing or sitting while using digital tools.
  • Frequent (75%+) fine motor activities, including typing, writing, clicking, or handling documents.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eden Prairie, MN.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $30.00/hr.
