Children’s Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. Children’s – Minnetonka is a multi‑specialty ambulatory surgery center with five operating rooms. The center is the first and only in Minnesota to be verified as a Level I Children’s Surgery Center by the American College of Surgeons Children’s Surgery Verification Quality Improvement Program. It offers performance in complex surgeries for newborns, children and teens. The pre/post‑op staff rotates through Play Wait (admitting), PACU (post‑op recovery) and PH II (recovery, discharge).
Nurses serve children ages 3 months to 20 years; in 2018 the center performed 3,200 surgeries across ENT, dental and oral surgery, endoscopy, colonoscopy, plastics, general surgery, ophthalmology, physiatry and urology.
Coordinates and provides family‑centered nursing care to infants, children and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members.
Shift DetailsMinimum availability of one shift per week. Shift will be 06:30–15:00.
Requirements- Current Minnesota RN license
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current BLS certification
- One‑year operating‑room experience required
The posted salary represents a market‑competitive range based on salary‑survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Individual pay rates consider factors such as skill, education, training, credentials and experience, internal equity, and organizational needs.
BenefitsIn addition to salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on‑call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
