CLASS SUMMARY
As a Depot Barista, you will be responsible for the orderly operation of the building; including opening and closing, building supervision, equipment monitoring, building maintenance and special event set‑ups and maintain a clean and comfortable environment. The Barista must be comfortable interacting with the public in order to provide an excellent customer experience and will present the facility at its best by providing overall maintenance and light custodial services.
SCOPEOF IMPACT
The duties and responsibilities of this job are performed with latitude for independent judgement in accordance with Department and City policies, Federal, State and Local regulations and are based on detailed knowledge of department operations. Work is subject to periodic review by the supervisor, who provides input on approval of recommendations and discusses assignments, priorities and work.
CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Provides a safe customer friendly environment for all users
- Responsible for opening and closing the facility as per work schedule assignments
- Assist in set‑up and take down of special events including banquet tables, chairs, audio‑visual equipment
- Responsible for building supervision including security, equipment monitoring, building maintenance and custodial duties
- Maintains a clean building throughout the day including meeting rooms, theater, gallery, offices and restrooms
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, grounds, and parking lots.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Hours may include evenings and weekends.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate or equivalent
FUNCTIONAL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES MIGHT INCLUDE- Positions in the Hopkins Depot may include:
- Greet and interact with customers to provide an excellent customer experience
- Serve as barista, operating an espresso machine and other equipment as needed.
- Follows operational policies, procedures, and guidelines such as recipe, presentation and health, safety and sanitation.
- Maintains product displays
- Operates a POS system
- Event set‑up and take down including banquet tables, chairs, audio‑visual equipment
- Maintenance and cleaning of the building including event spaces, kitchen, and restrooms
- Ability to lift and maneuver items that weigh up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to work independently
- Snow removal in front of all exit doors and sidewalks
