The Accounting Manager oversees daily accounting and transactional finance operations while helping evolve the financial foundation needed to support growth. This role manages accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing accuracy, collections, cash management, reconciliations, onboarding processes, and internal controls, while leading and developing a small accounting team.
In close partnership with the CFO, this leader contributes to budgeting, forecasting, KPI development, financial analysis, and strategic initiatives. The role works cross‑functionally with Operations, Commercial teams, and executive leadership to improve transparency, efficiency, and scalability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Team Leadership- Lead, coach, and develop a multi‑person accounting and finance team
- Ensure accurate and timely billing, cash application, and financial transactions
- Oversee exception management related to billing, cash receipts, and payables
- Manage AR, collections, credit decisions, and customer onboarding processes
- Maintain and improve documented SOPs and scalable workflows
- Drive accuracy, consistency, and quality in customer invoicing
- Oversee daily cash disbursements and payment processes
- Complete daily bank reconciliations and maintain cash visibility
- Improve AR aging and reduce days sales outstanding (DSO)
- Monitor credit risk and support customer contract reviews
- Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
- Assist with financial modeling, scenario analysis, and performance analysis
- Partner with the CFO on initiatives related to growth, efficiency, and technology
- Support select administrative and people‑related processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration
- Participate in regular leadership and department manager meetings
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automation, controls, and efficiency
- Partner cross‑functionally to reduce friction between finance, sales, and operations
- Support evaluation and implementation of finance‑related systems and tools
- Maintain and enhance financial dashboards and KPI scorecards
- Analyze trends, variances, and business drivers in partnership with leadership
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve profitability and controls
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial operations experience
- 2+ years of direct people leadership experience
- Strong working knowledge of AR/AP, general ledger, and transactional finance
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret data
- Experience with credit decisioning, onboarding, or AR optimization preferred
- Background in high‑growth, fast‑paced, or operations‑intensive environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across functions
- Service‑oriented mindset with a focus on solutions and internal partnership
