SUMMARY:
A special education teacher at the high school level will support students primarily in federal settings I and II. The teacher will provide services to students in a regular (co-taught) and special education setting. Special education classrooms at the high school are designed to address IEP needs within a specific curricular area.
A strong understanding of students with special education needs across categorical disabilities. Knowledge of instructional design and curriculum for students with educational disabilities; assessment and evaluation skills for meeting eligibility criteria; knowledge of due process components associated with the development, implementation, and monitoring of an IEP.
Qualified applicants would have a wide spectrum of skills to deliver academic instruction through various teaching modalities. The applicant would have skills and/or experience in programmatic design to address the social and emotional learning needs of students. The individual would possess attributes of leadership, collaboration, flexibility, and effective communication to ensure a team approach is utilized in creating an educational learning environment that ensures high academic rigor while meeting the individualized needs of students.

- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials; provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil, utilizing district-approved curriculum.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
