Key Responsibilities- On-Site leadership of one location overseeing physical therapists, occupational therapists, and pathologists, with managerial, clinical, and administrative duties. The top focus is on team members, patients, and customer experiences. Ensure the highest standards of care and operational efficiency.
- Clinical Oversight:
Ensure delivery of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy across all locations is performed to high clinical standards and evidence-based practice. Monitor and assess quality of care and guide improvements as needed. - Compliance and Regulation:
Regularly review and enforce compliance with healthcare regulations and standards for PT, OT, and SLP services. Ensure practitioners maintain current licensure and certifications. - Staff Development:
Mentor and lead ongoing professional development and training programs for PTs, PTAs, OT, OTAs, and SLPs to foster clinical skills and adherence to best practices. - Interdisciplinary
Collaboration:
Facilitate collaboration among PT, OT, and SLP to maximize outcomes. - Resource Management:
Allocate resources across sites to meet operational needs and maximize patient care and staff satisfaction. - Supports the Mission, Values and Vision of TMC and the facility.
- Leads and directs the work of others.
- Uses data and clinical judgment to ensure appropriate delivery of therapy care to maximize outcomes and meet discharge goals.
- Plan and schedule staff based on clinical needs of patients.
- Maintain ongoing communication with facility skilled services team regarding variances from the care plan or discharge plan affecting reimbursement and outcomes.
- Intervene to overcome deviations in the plan of care that would affect safe discharge and re-hospitalization. Assist with stabilization of medical condition when needed.
- Assist with training regarding coding, documentation, and assessment to support continuity of utilization and medical necessity.
- Promote clinical programs with quality outcomes reporting, risk-based programs, and hospital relationships.
- Oversee New Hire Orientation to ensure completion per HR policies; educate new hires on policies, protocols, and daily responsibilities.
- Attend and participate in facility and company meetings as appropriate.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of paperwork in accordance with Medicare and company requirements.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of billing and payroll logs per company policies.
- Manage and assist therapists to maximize patient care support and efficiency.
- Inform team members of policy changes to ensure quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for daily interaction with facility and staff; promote a positive work environment and the TMC Experience.
- Assist in maintenance and implementation of special programs.
- Promote employee development and clinical program enhancement as indicated.
- Complete required performance appraisals for therapy staff and make recommendations regarding new hires and promotions.
- Counsel staff via appropriate processes with input from leadership; handle discipline as needed.
- Ensure therapy department has sufficient supplies/equipment.
- Comply with discipline-specific job requirements including physical strength requirements.
- Assist registered therapists in carrying out procedures and programs.
- Perform routine treatment procedures per the planned program and report pertinent findings to the registered therapist.
- Develop professional relationships with staff, customers, facility team members, residents, and families.
- Communicate facility, patient, and staff issues to Area Manager in a timely fashion.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Degree in an accredited Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology Program. Certified assistants also qualify—Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA).
