As a Team Leader, you’ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office.

Typical Day

You’ll inspire people to make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money, and build client relationships that grow stronger each year.

You’ll serve as the front-line manager to provide leadership and development of tax office associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives. You’ll act as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for the team as you advance your knowledge and skills with us.

Responsibilities
  • Lead as the front-line manager for a tax office team, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving growth objectives.
  • Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including local partnerships and community involvement.
  • Recruit and interview candidates for tax office associate positions; assist in the onboarding process.
  • Serve as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Ensure associates complete work on time with attention to quality standards, priorities, and goals.
  • Build an engaging team environment through training and coaching to execute Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.
  • Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information; create associate work schedules and ensure accurate timekeeping.
  • Prepare tax returns as required and conduct timely performance reviews; collaborate with Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns.
Qualifications / Expertise
  • Prior experience in customer service, shift leadership, or a similar role; experience supervising or managing people.
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
  • Annual continuing education and ability to meet IRS and state requirements.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible schedule and adaptability to business needs; high school diploma or equivalent or higher.
