Sterile Compound Technician - Permanent - Hoover, AL

Craft sterile medicines with precision, discipline, and uncompromising quality.

Proclinical is seeking a Sterile Compound Technician to join a team in AL. This position also involves managing inventory, maintaining a clean room, and adhering to regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and mixing sterile pharmaceutical products in a highly controlled environment. You will undergo comprehensive training to ensure compliance with FDA and cGMP standards while working in ISO 7 rooms and ISO 5 work spaces.

Skills & Requirements
  • Active pharmacy technician registration with the State Board of Pharmacy in good standing.
  • Experience in sterile compounding with strong aseptic technique and hand-eye coordination.
  • 503B sterile compounding experience is a plus.
  • PTCB Certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time and volume constraints.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and sit/stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and fine motor skills.
The Sterile Compound Technician's Responsibilities
  • Prepare and mix sterile pharmaceutical products following FDA and cGMP guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate manufacturing records and complete required documentation.
  • Operate and monitor computerized compounding and filling equipment.
  • Perform weighing and mixing activities for sterile medication compounding.
  • Prepare records and monitor results for quality assurance testing.
  • Conduct sterilization processes for devices and equipment under supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with potency, quality, sterility, and other standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage reordering of supplies.
  • Verify materials for batch compounding.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of the environment using proper techniques.
  • Complete end-of-batch reconciliation and count verification.
  • Successfully complete aseptic technique competency evaluations and product validations.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department or pharmacy manager.
