Talon Hiring Solutions has a client in the Hoover, AL area that is looking for a Document Control Specialist to join the team. This role oversees the organization, maintenance, and distribution of project documentation throughout the lifecycle of architectural projects. Ensures document accuracy, proper version control, regulatory compliance, and timely communication of drawings, specifications, contracts, and related records to internal and external stakeholders.
What you will do:- Manage and maintain electronic and hard copy project files, including drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and correspondence.
- Establish, implement, and enforce document control procedures, filing systems, and naming conventions.
- Maintain accurate version control of architectural drawings and revisions.
- Track, log, and monitor all incoming and outgoing project documentation.
- Distribute drawings, revisions, and project updates to project teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Develop and coordinate project specifications to ensure alignment with construction drawings and contract documents.
- Prepare and review bid documentation, including agendas and tabulations.
- Support Project Managers with document tracking, reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate document transmittals and maintain detailed records of approvals and submittals.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to company standards and project-specific requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve document control processes and overall workflow efficiency.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of document control experience within an architecture, engineering, or construction environment.
- Experience working with construction documentation and technical drawings strongly preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
