Senior Infection Prevention for Providence Oregon Shared Services at Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, OR.

Full-Time/Day Shift

The Infection Prevention Expert is considered to have expertise in Infection Prevention. An IP Expert is expected to work autonomously and to serve as a mentor to other infection preventionists.

All Infection Preventionists (IPs) are accountable for implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at the facility, region, division and system level. In collaboration with the IP leadership, IP medical director, and IP peers, all IPs will follow all current local, state and federal guidelines, standards and regulations.

Infection Preventionists provide infection prevention consultative services focused on providing the highest quality care at the lowest cost to patient and organization.

• Provide infection prevention consultative services focused on high-quality care at reasonable cost.
• Work autonomously and mentor other infection preventionists.
• Ensure implementation and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at facility, region, division and system levels.
• Collaborate with IP leadership, IP medical director, and IP peers; adhere to current local, state and federal guidelines, standards and regulations.

• Bachelor's Degree Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
• Upon hire:
  National Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology
• 5 years Healthcare experience
• 5 years Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience

• Master's Degree Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
• Within 2 years of hire:
  Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (FAPIC) Or
• Within 2 years of hire:
  Advanced Leadership Certification in IPC (AL-CIP)
• 10 or more years Healthcare experience
• 10 or more years Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience
