The Engineering Manager directs a portfolio of new and enhanced safety-critical Avionic projects, and leads a multi-disciplinary (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Software) team of various subject matter experts. Reporting to the Director of Engineering

Essential Job Functions
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and development of engineering teams
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of the overall technical roadmap vision
  • Ensure that all development initiatives meet business, customer, technical, schedule and cost objectives
  • Establish lean product development, SOPs, and ensure their use and continuously improvement.
  • Work with departments of business development, production, customers, quality, and those working beside you, such as human resources, to assure alignment with overall business strategy.
  • Tasked with selection, hiring, exits for overall team.
  • Maintain a culture of hard work, discipline, pride in your work and comradery within the engineering function.
  • Maintain the integrity of safety-critical solutions in everything you do.
  • Maximize value added work and achieve the right balance of communication and empowerment.
  • Proliferate the architecturally driven systems engineering mindset across the organization.
  • Guiding the consistent creation of work products to formal development work standards.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
  • Progressive experience in engineering design, development and test of real time embedded system development in accordance with rigorous design standards
  • Strong experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required;
    Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
  • Strong background and knowledge of DoD and AAF.
  • Management of multi-disciplinary engineering functions including Project Management, Systems, Software, Electrical and Mechanical and Configuration Management.
  • FAA product certification requirements including DO-278A, DO-254, ARP
    4761.
  • Knowledge and skill in agile product development methodologies.
