CDL Driver (Class

B) – Pacific Shipyards International, LLC., Honolulu, HI

Position: CDL Driver (Class

B)

Reports to: Assistant Facilities Manager

This position requires a dependable and efficient CDL truck driver. Must be organized, detailed oriented, and comfortable working independently. A clean driving record and commercial driving experience is a must.

• Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle
• Pick up and safely transport goods to intended destination
• Ensure contents are properly secured in truck/flatbed to prevent damage/injury
• Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
• Assist in mapping driving routes
• Stay on predetermined route to ensure timely transport and delivery
• Communicate with dispatch as needed
• Confirm that the contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document
• Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
• Check weather conditions and road reports before departure
• Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean
• Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)
• Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
• Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times
• Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
• Track and report working hours
• Adhere to company rules and regulations
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in accordance with the weather/road conditions
• Make safety a priority at all times
  
  Alert, focused, and detailed-oriented
• Physically and mentally fit with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL); class B required
• 2 + years proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred
• Clean driving record with no moving violation
• Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
• Proficient using GPS and other routing systems

• Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States
• This position requires US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base access
• Must be able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
• Must be able to successfully obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites
• All candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening, physical test,and a background check before employment begins. Failure to complete any of these steps will result in disqualification
• Valid State of Hawaii REAL
  -Compliant Drivers’ License in good standing or a valid U.S. Passport in addition to a valid Hawaii Driver’s License, if you do not have a REAL
  -Compliant Driver’s License, class B required
• Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites on time for the start of shift
• Must be flexible in work hours

• Maintain assigned work areas in a clean and orderly fashion
• Maintain and ensure the safety of all assigned equipment
• Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards
• Meet productivity goals and quality standards as set by management
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and balance priorities
