Provides a variety of direct care and support services to individuals with developmental disabilities at the Abilities Unlimited site or in the community. Direct Support Workers help participants achieve their individual goals in accordance with their Individual Support Plan. As a Direct Support worker you will work with high functioning adults with disabilities and mentor them at program which operates like a school setting in office, at their work and in the community.
This position provides a variety of real-world experiences applicable for those who
are interested in pursuing careers in human services, social services, psychology,
and/or education.

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements.

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
Completion of Abilities Unlimited orientation training (provided) or one year of experience working with people with disabilities.
Must pass FBI Fingerprint Clearance Screening.
2 step TB skin test clearance or negative chest x-ray clearance.
CPR training for adults including AED certification. Will be obtained through company vendor upon hire.
Transporting is not required. If transporting, must have own vehicle to transport Participants. A valid driver license and driver abstract is required.
