Maintenance Technician

We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We are seeking a qualified individual with industry experience. Reporting directly to the Chief Building Engineer or the Account Manager-Engineering, the Maintenance Technician will be tasked with general maintenance and repairs of facility equipment and property structures, as well as grounds maintenance.

Candidates must pass a background check, possess a valid Hawaii driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, previous hands‑on maintenance experience, proficiency in light plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, and painting/drywall, all tasks must be performed in accordance with EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety regulations. Excellent communication skills and the capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team are crucial.

• Subject to emergencies: after hours, weekends and holidays
• Compensation: $25.00 per hour

• Perform preventative general maintenance inspections and repairs (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and grounds maintenance).
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting with property managers, vendors, and customers.
• Lift, push, pull 50–75 lbs and perform other physical tasks during shift.
• Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are operational and fix as necessary.
• Create and maintain work orders and purchase orders.
• Work in warm/hot conditions, utilize stairs, and navigate up and down ladders.
• Complete additional maintenance duties as required by the HBM supervisor/property management.

• Must pass background check.
• Must have a valid Hawaii driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have basic hand tools.
• General preventative maintenance experience required (commercial plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and drywall).
• Strong troubleshooting abilities and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Good public relations skills and communication; customer service oriented.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently lift, press, push, pull, carry 50–80 lbs, reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, use stairs, use ladders, and stand throughout shift.
• Willingness to learn and improve.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
