Job SummaryTroubleshoot and perform maintenance on welding systems and products distributed by the company. The position will perform work at the branch facility and at customer sites as required. You will oversee all aspects of the weld repair department and technician operations.
Responsibilities- Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.
- Repairs and refurbishes all electric and engine drives.
- Assembles electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental.
- Tests and calibrates machines to determine if they are functional for rent or sale.
- Repaints parts, touches up paint, and applies decals on welders to maintain appearance.
- Replaces defective parts and completes preventative maintenance required.
- Orders parts as required to complete repairs.
- Inspects returned equipment for proper operation and/or damage by the customer.
- Operates a forklift, pallet jack or other required equipment to stock parts in the shop.
- Ensures a clean and organized work environment at all times.
- Prepares and completes paperwork for all machine repairs.
- Occasionally required to service equipment and customers off‑site.
- Maintains communication with all branch personnel.
- Occasionally advises customers regarding best equipment for their projects.
- Act with care, adapt to our environment, and engage to trust and grow — core tenets of the Be, Act, Engage framework.
- Perform any reasonable work request that falls within the job qualifications but is not specifically described.
Minimum Qualifications
Post‑secondary education equivalent to a one‑year technical college or equivalent is an asset.
Required Length and Type of Experience- At least 3 years of mechanical knowledge preferred.
- Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding application and equipment is preferred.
- Experience with SAP or similar software system.
- Intermediate computer skills using Google Workspace recommended.
