R Welder Repair Technician (Open)

Location:

Honolulu, HI – Retail shop

Welder Repair Technician

Target Hourly Rate: $28.00 - $32.00 (DOE)

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on welding systems and products distributed by the Company. The position will perform work at the branch facility and at customer sites as required. Candidate will be responsible to oversee all aspects of the weld repair department and technicians.

  • Adhere to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.

  • Repair and refurbish all Electric and Engine Drives.

  • Assemble electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental.

  • Test and calibrate machines to determine if they are functional for rent or sale.

  • Repaint parts, touch up paint, and apply decals on welders to maintain general appearance.

  • Replace defective parts and complete preventative maintenance required.

  • Order parts as required to complete repairs.

  • Inspect returned equipment for proper operation and/or damage by the customer.

  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack or other necessary equipment to stock required parts in the shop.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.

  • Prepare and complete paperwork for all machine repairs.

  • Occasionally service equipment and customers off-site.

  • Maintain communication with all branch personnel.

  • Occasionally advise customers regarding best equipment for their projects.

  • All employees are expected to perform any reasonable work request that falls within the qualifications but not specifically described.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Required

    Education:

    Post-secondary education equivalent to a one year Technical College or equivalent is an asset.

  • Required Length and Type of

    Experience:

    At least 3 years of Mechanical Knowledge preferred

  • Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding application and equipment is preferred.

  • SAP or similar software system experience.

  • Intermediate skills operating a computer in Google Workspace is recommended.
