Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance
Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) is looking for a highly motivated, reliable, and trustworthy individual. The ideal candidate should excel in customer service and have a keen eye for detail, as the role involves repairing and maintaining a commercial building in Downtown Oahu. Candidates should possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle for work. They must also pass a background check.
Previous experience as a maintenance technician or in a related field is preferred. We warmly welcome enthusiastic applicants!

- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs: plumbing, electrical, mechanical and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), painting, drywall, and grounds maintenance.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with property managers, vendors, customers, etc.
- Involves constant movement, standing, walking, bending, able to stretch during shifts.
- Able to lift, push, pull, carry a minimum of 50lbs up to 75lbs.
- Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are working in order and fixed as necessary.
- Create and maintain work orders.
- Create and maintain purchase orders.
- Perform any additional maintenance related duties as required by HBM supervisor/property management.
- Must pass background check.
- High school diploma/GED.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- General preventative maintenance experience required (basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall).
- Troubleshooting abilities.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Good public relations skills and communication.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Manual labor expectations: clean common areas, frequently lift, push, pull, carry a minimum of 50lbs (up to 75lbs), reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, walk up and down a stairway, climb up/down a ladder and stand throughout the shift.
- Willingness to learn and grow.
40 hours a week. After probation schedule is subject to change:
Monday-Friday: 8am - 4:30pm during training.
$23.00 per hour
