Clearance Requirement

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required.

License/Certification Requirement

Responsibilities

A Mechanical Critical Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the complex mechanical systems in data centers, hospitals, and manufacturing plants. This role requires a strong background in HVAC and other mechanical equipment, along with mission‑critical experience and relevant certifications.

  • Proficient operation, maintenance, and repair of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems including chillers, boilers, CRAC/CRAH units, and air handling units.
  • Install, maintain, and repair minor plumbing systems, including pumps, valves, and piping.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of BMS platforms like Niagara Tridium, Siemens, or Johnson Controls for monitoring and controlling environmental systems.
  • Read and interpret mechanical, plumbing, and electrical diagrams to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Proficiency with CMMS software to track and document work orders, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED or greater.
  • 6+ years of work experience, including 3+ years of direct experience in a critical facility operation such as a data center or hospital.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and meet citizenship eligibility.
  • Mechanical applicants must have experience with chillers greater than 300 tons, boilers, or similar significant mechanical equipment.
  • Journeyman or HVAC Certification.
  • EPA 608 Certification.

Abilities
  • Lifting, carrying, and moving objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Relocates a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet, including scaffolds, aerial lifts, and ladders.
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead repeatedly.
  • Good vision (may be corrected), ability to see in color, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • Uses a standard ladder without exceeding weight limits while carrying tools.
  • Identifies potential problems and applies general rules to produce logical answers.
  • Combines pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
  • Sees details up close, within a few feet.
  • Listens to and understands spoken information and ideas.
