Job DescriptionAs an Airport Law Enforcement Officer - Armed Patrol in Honolulu, HI, you will safeguard the airport, staff, and its facilities. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication to all visitors and staff. Position Type:
Part Time – Overnight
Pay Rate: $28.86 per hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.
Job Schedule:
Wednesday 11:30 PM – 08:00 AM, Friday 11:30 PM – 08:00 AM
- 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
- Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying)
- Valid Driver's License
- Law Enforcement Officer License
- 22+ years of age
The basic qualifications listed below are representative of the relevant knowledge, skills, and/or experience required in order to be hired. These are requirements that we have determined are the minimum a candidate must have in order to be successful in this role.
Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required- Certified State law enforcement recruit training
- Certified County law enforcement recruit training
- Federal law enforcement training
- Programs approved by the Director
- No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. 922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings (referring to the decisions in Giglio v. United States, 405 U.S. 105 (1972) and United States v. Henthorn, 931
F. 2d 29 (9th Cir. 1991)). - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions.
- Must be able to supervise Contractor's personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees.
- Shall have no record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders which may interfere with performance of duties.
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Exercise sound judgement and render immediate, appropriate decisions, under stressful conditions.
- Maintain maturity in conduct, behavior, and attitude.
- Take orders, follow instructions, accept and assume responsibility for one's actions.
- Remain alert, attentive, and professional. Recognize, respond and take appropriate and corrective actions to various situations.

- LEOs may be required to provide court appearances for citations that are issued on behalf of DOTA. Contractor shall provide replacement staffing for LEOs that are required to attend a court proceeding.
