Retail Associate/ Customer Service, Customer Service Rep
Position Summary
Sales Clerk – U.S. Coast Guard Community Services Command, Honolulu, HI. Intermittent schedule (0‑19 hours per week). Pay plan NF-2091-01. $15.00 per hour.
Duties- Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and assist with merchandise selection.
- Provide outstanding customer service and respond promptly to customer concerns.
- Sell merchandise, demonstrate and explain technical features as needed.
- Perform periodic stock counts and participate in inventories.
- Replenish stock and keep merchandise neat and presentable.
- Operate a cash register: accept cash, checks, credit‑debit cards, and gift cards; give accurate change; record sales; reconcile the till at shift end.
- Adjust prices (markdowns/markups) and set promotions; display signage and change item labels as required.
- Follow loss‑prevention policies, monitor shrink and Alert Line.
- Adhere to safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
- Work weekends and perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; ability to read, comprehend, and explain product literature.
- Basic arithmetic skills for stocking and inventory (counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing).
- Physically able to lift 10 lb routinely and 25 lb occasionally, and stand for long periods.
- Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience.
