About Our Company Lids Sports Group is the largest licensed sports retailer in North America, selling fan and fashion-oriented headwear and apparel across the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Australia. Operating out of Indianapolis, IN, our retail stores offer officially licensed headwear and apparel from collegiate and professional sports teams, plus top brands like Nike, New Era, Adidas, and Mitchell & Ness.
We currently operate 1,200+ locations domestically and 50+ internationally, including specialty concept stores for the NBA, NHL, Paris Saint‑Germain, and numerous MLB teams. In recent years, Lids has built partnerships with iconic global brands including Marvel, Playboy, and the Harlem Globetrotters, and gained ambassadors like Justin Jefferson, Quavo, and Josephine Skriver. The company is currently expanding with the goal of becoming the largest licensed brick‑and‑mortem sports retailer across the globe.
Position Summary
- Produce sales gains by providing customer service.
- Meet or exceed company objectives in all individual statistics.
- Document and provide appraisal of associate sales performance, offering feedback on strengths and opportunities aligned with company objectives.
- Adhere to visual guidelines, including merchandising, signage, and store cleanliness.
- Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the dress code policy.
- Generate Sales – produce sales gains by providing customer service, meet or exceed company objectives, provide appraisal, adhere to visual guidelines, maintain professionalism.
- Protect company assets within LIDS Retail policies.
- Assist in preparing store schedules that provide proper coverage while staying within wage control guidelines.
- Follow all inventory policies, including receiving, transferring, price changes, and product counts.
- Perform proper documentation and record‑keeping per LIDS Retail policies and state/federal laws.
- Open and close the store as required following the Operations P&P Manual.
- Support and adhere to all LIDS policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Participate in LIDS training programs, adhere to set goals (sales and tasks) and regular follow‑up.
- Assist in recruiting and training store personnel on store operations and procedures.
- Encourage store associates’ compliance with established company policies, procedures and guidelines including safekeeping of inventory, funds and property.
- Perform work of subordinates as needed.
- Communicate with employees at all levels.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus one year relative experience.
- Ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate verbally in a clear professional manner.
- Ability to operate a computer and relevant software programs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb a ladder and work with hands overhead.
- Standing required for up to 100% of the work time.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
Assistant Store Managers can earn up to 25% above local minimum wage based on experience. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Assistant Store Mangers PT are also available for monthly store sales bonuses and a 40% employee discount.
Reports To- Store Manager
For Hawaii-based roles:
Annual pay ranges may fall between $29,120 - $58,656. You may also be offered a bonus, and other benefits.
