The Sales Associate (Flex/Lawn & Garden) is the face of our company, showcasing our brand and building our reputation as a customer‑focused organization. The role requires a positive, outgoing personality with a passion for serving others and making a positive impact.

• Proactively engage customers, ask questions, and listen to their needs.
• Guide customers to merchandise, inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card benefits.
• Provide premier customer service and build positive, inclusive, respectful relationships.
• Maintain store appearance and ensure the layout meets customer expectations.
• Cross‑sell, upsell, and suggest products based on the latest trends and individual customer needs.
• Use the Point‑of‑Sale system to process cash, discounts, gift cards, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring accurate cash handling.
• Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation as required.
• Act as the keeper of merchandise: complete inventory processes, check goods in, and ticket items accurately.
• Adhere to the assigned work schedule and follow through on all work assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Basic product knowledge of outdoor living and pet shop merchandise.
• Retail experience preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting instructional documents.
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to multi‑task, stay attentive to customers, and remain flexible to business needs.
• Can work as part of a team and take initiative independently.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

• Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing (at least two consecutive hours).
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders.
• Vision: close vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
• Lifting at least 25 lbs., up to 50 lbs. in some departments.
• Mostly indoors, may be assigned outdoors depending on location.

• Enthusiastic, friendly, energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.
• Available to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
