Retail Associate/ Customer Service, Customer Service Rep
Job Summary
As a Cashier you will be the face of our company, highlighting our brand and image while helping customers understand the value of our products and services. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and supporting the company’s reputation as a customer‑focused organization.
Duties and Responsibilities- Customer Service
- Proactively engage and connect with customers.
- Ask questions and listen to customers’ needs.
- Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and the STAR card.
- Provide premier customer service.
- Cooperate and build positive, inclusive and respectful relationships, taking accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
- Organization
- Maintain checkout area appearance.
- Move and restock bags, packaging materials, and labels.
- Sales
- Interact with customers to ensure they find everything they need.
- Make suggestions on latest trends and current promotions based on individual customer needs.
- Use a point‑of‑sale system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, and cash handling, including counting money and returning accurate amounts.
- Maintain change funds and accounts for sales receipts.
- Complete various reports and reconciliation paperwork.
- Inventory
- Be the keeper of merchandise; complete all inventory processes and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- Participate in periodic inventories.
- Dependability
- Adhere to the assigned work schedule.
- Accurately and completely follow through on work assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Product Knowledge.
- Knowledge of point‑of‑sale systems.
- Experience:
Retail or relevant work experience preferred but not required. - Communication
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; effective telephone etiquette. - Mathematics
Skills:
Basic math functions, calculator use, percentage calculations, ability to make change in U.S shingles. - Reasoning לי:
Ability to multi‑task while attending to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business; ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently of direct supervision.
This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. It may occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role involves lifting 25‑50 pounds in certain departments. Work is typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on the location.
