The Cook I / II / III performs food preparation and cooking tasks in a timely and professional manner under the supervision of the Sous Chef. This role supports daily kitchen operations by ensuring quality, consistency, sanitation, and service excellence across all assigned stations and functions.
Responsibilities and level of supervision will vary based on experience and placement (Cook I, II, or III).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities(May include, but are not limited to the following)
- Prepare, season, cook, and plate menu items and special requests with proper garnish.
- Prepare sauces, soups, stocks, broths, stews, and a variety of hot and cold food items.
- Assist with buffet setup, service, and breakdown.
- Expedite orders promptly while maintaining timing and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations at all times.
- Perform daily inspections of walk-in refrigerators to ensure proper rotation and food safety.
- Assist Sous Chef and senior cooks with kitchen operations as assigned.
- Relieve or substitute for other cooks as operational needs require.
- Supervise and/or train other kitchen staff as assigned (Cook II / III).
- In the absence of the Sous Chef, assist with supervision of kitchen staff (Cook III).
- Adhere to all Pacific Club standards, policies, and food safety regulations.
- Demonstrate calm, rational decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain knowledge of all menu items and assist staff with questions as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
(Requirements vary by Cook level)
- Culinary school training preferred.
- Minimum experience:
- Cook I: 2+ years of cooking experience preferred.
- Cook II / III: 6+ years of cooking experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques, sauces, stocks, butchering, and product identification.
- Knowledge of kitchen and cooking terminology.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
- Ability to supervise and train employees (Cook II / III).
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Commitment to quality, consistency, and service excellence.
- Food safety certification and sanitation training.
- Pre-employment negative drug test required.
- TB clearance required.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position requiring 40 or more hours per week
.
- Morning Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Evening Shift: 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM.
Must have flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and extended hours based on business needs. Schedules are driven by operational demands rather than a fixed shift.

Mental and Physical Demands:
- Standing for extended periods.
- Walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, stretching, twisting, and reaching.
- Continuous repetitive motions.
- Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds

- Hourly Range: $26 -$30/hour DOE.
