Federal funds. Appointment to begin approximately early March 2026.
A new database has been developed, compiling trait data for Native Hawaiian plant species. The research associate will develop multivariate statistical models to characterize plant function across Hawaii's complex climate gradients. A manuscript will be prepared for peer‑reviewed publication.
Minimum QualificationsPhD equivalent degree in botany or ecology. Must have advanced knowledge of plant ecophysiology, database curation, and multivariate statistical modeling in R; ability to organize tasks and to work independently; ability to write scientific reports; excellent oral and written communication skills.
Desirable QualificationsExperience with plant leaf economic spectrum traits, climate data, and familiarity with native Hawaiian plant species.
