Conditions:
Federal funds. Appointment to begin approximately early March 2026.
Research will involve collecting photosynthetic and leaf morphological data in coastal dune field sites on O'ahu Island. This will be done as part of a team, including the PI and students (graduate and undergraduate). Samples collected in the field will be further processed in the lab. Data entry, organization, and some statistical analyses will be done, under the supervision of the PI.
Contributing to the preparation of a manuscript for peer‑reviewed publication.
- PhD equivalent degree in botany.
- Must have advanced knowledge of plant ecophysiology and basic experience with spreadsheet data entry, organization, and analysis.
- Skills in using ecophysiological instruments, lab instruments (microscopes, microbalance, drying oven).
- Ability to organize tasks and to work independently.
- Ability to write scientific reports; excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working in coastal dune habitats and familiarity with native Hawaiian plant species.
