* Provides health education to promote wellness and preventive health care.
* Provides TB testing and clearance as well as certain immunizations for employees and volunteers in compliance with Hawaii State Health laws.
* May be expected to become an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED instructor and provide training to KS employees.
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or closely related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of related work experience as a Registered Nurse.
* Current State of Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license.
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
* Good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff.
* Ability to perform duties without direct supervision.
* Must enjoy working with children and adolescents.
* Ability to work evenings and weekends as required to meet goals and objectives.
* Registered Nurse with experience in a physician's office, clinic or hospital, preferably in pediatric/adolescent family medicine, emergency room, medical-surgical or equivalent experience.
* National Association of School Nurses (NASN) membership.
* Current and valid driver's license.
* Excellent interpersonal relationships to ensure a positive working environment.
* Knowledge of healthcare policies & procedures applicable to KS to ensure compliance.
* Frequently sits, perform desk-based computer tasks and grasp light or fine manipulation, talk or hear.
* Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
* Occasionally stand and/or walk, write by hand, and lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.
* Rarely twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully.
