Overview
Nurse Practitioner – Pediatrics – Part Time – Hawaii is a clinical role at Kaiser Permanente focused on advanced pediatric nursing care in a community setting. The position calls for a highly skilled APRN capable of providing direct and indirect nursing services, supervising other staff, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Evaluate physical and psychosocial health status of pediatric patients using comprehensive history, exam, and diagnostic data.
- Diagnose health status and determine appropriate nursing interventions.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans while maintaining accurate, compliant documentation.
- Consult with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate acute and ongoing care.
- Oversee nursing, medical, and clerical personnel to ensure high quality patient care.
- Lead, teach, and counsel patients and staff to promote health maintenance and community education.
- Participate in periodic and joint evaluation of services rendered, research, and policy development within the specialty area.
- Serve as a resource of advanced nursing knowledge to internal and external stakeholders.
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field with emphasis on pediatrics.
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License (Hawaii) and Registered Nurse (RN) License (Hawaii).
- National Provider Identifier and Basic Life Support from AHA at hire.
- Valid Hawaii APRN prescriptive authority or recognized authority with prescriptive responsibility.
- Experience as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or similar specialty.
- Demonstrated proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Strong customer service, conflict resolution, counseling, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Adaptability, change management, results orientation, and teamwork competence.
