Leidos is seeking a Business Operations Manager to provide strategic oversight of the performance of all Business Program offerings in the Hawai‘i Energy portfolio. This position offers an opportunity for a dynamic person with leadership, collaboration, communication, analytics and organizational skills to influence energy efficiency program goal attainment within a creative team environment.

The Challenge:

The Business Operations Manager will be responsible for driving a culture of accountability, success and goal attainment for the business team and the organization while supporting the team’s development and leadership.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, and in collaboration with the existing Business Management team, the Business Operations Manager will:

  • Oversee forecast and data management to support performance goal attainment, metrics and directives required by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC).
  • Coach and assist Energy Advisor staff in prospecting, relationship building, needs identification, probability assessments, pipeline management, and need fulfillment.
  • Operationalize strategies and business plans into end use and sector-specific goals, initiatives and tactics and oversee their implementation and monitoring of performance and results.
  • Address and resolve customer and contractor concerns by gathering information, coordinating with relevant teams, and ensuring timely, constructive solutions that support a positive program experience.
  • Develop, track and report critical business metrics to assess performance, productivity, strategic effectiveness and financial performance.
  • Develop and analyze reports to determine trends and support program participation and energy savings; identify additional savings opportunities by sector. Regularly report program forecast and pipeline and any actions needed to the leadership team.
  • Conduct plan reviews with the Energy Advisors on a regular cadence; assess probabilities of projects and pipelines and take action to increase activity to meet goals.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures in coordination with other Program Managers; ensure Energy Advisors follow these procedures and update as necessary.
  • Oversee annual updates and maintenance of commercial program forms and documentation including applications, rules and requirements, and program agreements.
  • Drive program strategy and continuous improvement through collaboration with other departments and individuals.
  • Present to the PUC, customers, contractors, and the media on the business programs as needed.
What Sets You Apart
  • 7+ years of professional experience in business operations management, sales/business development, and direct supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, environmental science, engineering or related field;
    Master’s degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of energy efficiency program implementation.
  • Ability to analyze information, make strategic decisions and guide others’ decisions by identifying benefits, consequences and impacts of alternatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Salesforce CRM experience.
  • Demonstrated people skills and ability to lead, teach and manage a diverse workforce while maintaining morale and performance.
  • Ability to set clear goals/priorities and maintain high energy and drive to achieve them; hold management and staff accountable for targets.
  • Detail-oriented, well organized, self-starting with strong written and verbal communication; productive and accurate in performance of work.
  • Strong commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of Hawai‘i Energy.
  • Valid driver’s license.
