Provides leadership to ensure the physical and operational integrity, safety, and modernization of the company’s transmission and distribution systems. Includes engineering, permitting, construction, and maintenance of transmission, distribution, substation, and metering infrastructure. Aligns operational strategies with corporate goals and regulatory requirements. Leads wildfire strategy implementation, serves on the leadership team for all‑hazard emergency response, and drives continuous improvement in safety, service, and operational efficiency.
Leads, mentors, and develops a high‑performing team and collaborates across the company for optimal outcomes.
Infrastructure Management – design and implement policies to ensure reliability and safety; translate strategic plans into operational actions; develop O&M and capital forecasts; manage budgets; prioritize safety and emergency response.
Transmission and Distribution System – improve safety, reliability, and resilience; serve as incident commander during emergencies; lead wildfire mitigation implementation.
Business Partnership – support financial health; participate in company planning with a focus on system reliability and stakeholder impact.
External Interface – manage relationships with government agencies, customers, and the public; ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Community Advocacy – represent the company at community activities; foster public relations and business development.
Operational Excellence – develop and enforce policies that improve overall operations, safety, and effectiveness.
Team Engagement – administer personnel matters, including performance appraisals and development; build a sustainable, high‑performing workforce.
Enterprise Leadership – fulfill other duties as assigned, typical of a company officer.
Emergency Response – participate in company emergency response activities as assigned.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience. Additional Business Administration or related degree highly desirable.
Experience: 10+ years in technical electric utility operations with progressive leadership responsibilities; extensive experience in energy delivery system planning or related area; several (3–5) years of project management experience relating to energy delivery projects.
Knowledge and
Skills:
In‑depth knowledge of energy delivery technologies, regulatory processes, contract and labor law; strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and change‑management skills; ability to think on one’s feet and influence diverse stakeholders.
The expected base salary range is $250,000 to $320,000, plus participation in performance‑based incentive programs (short‑term and long‑term).
