- Shift Work: For the immediate vacancy, applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Supervises and participates in keeping assigned buildings and building areas clean and orderly, including heavy lifting, cleaning places and equipment which are not easily accessible, simple building repair work and operating industrial type cleaning equipment; and performs other related duties as assigned.
To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Legal Authorization to WorkThe State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
General ExperienceTwo (2) years of janitorial or related custodial work such as sweeping, dusting and cleaning of buildings.
Supervisory AptitudeApplicants must possess Supervisory Aptitude. Supervisory aptitude is the demonstration of aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision, e.g., by serving as a group or team leader; or in similar work in which opportunities for demonstrating supervisory capabilities exist; or by the completion of training courses in supervision accompanied by application of supervisory skills in work assignments;
and/or by favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating the possession of supervisory potential.
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
Federal Criminal History Records CheckIn accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport, must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within 10 years from the date of the application.
Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years. The cost for the records check will be the applicant's responsibility.
