• Independently performs the full range of maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on computerized systems in motor vehicles; utilizes computerized equipment to test electronic systems, diagnose problems, and complete microprocessor-related repairs; performs journey-level mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair work; and performs other related duties as assigned.

• LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK REQUIREMENT: citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
• SPECIALIZED
  
  EXPERIENCE:
  
  Four years of automotive repair work as an automotive mechanic, with at least two years involving use of computerized equipment to test, analyze, diagnose, and repair microprocessor-based systems.
• VEHICLE INSPECTOR CERTIFICATE:
  Must possess a valid State of Hawai'i Safety Inspection Certificate, or meet requirements to apply for one and obtain it before the probationary period ends.
• DRIVER'S LICENSE:
  Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment.
