Duties and Responsibilities (
* denotes essential functions):
* Conceives, plans, and directs tasks to produce or to support information technology service management (ITSM) practices utilized by ITS.
* Develops, documents, implements and enhances ITSM procedures and activities in accordance with service management frameworks, such as ITIL.
* Directs the design, development, testing, and documentation of the ITSM platform.
* Designs, develops, tests, and documents programs and scripts that automate routine tasks, particularly within the ITSM platform.
* Works directly with IT staff and assesses technical requirements based on strategic initiatives and customer needs for ITSM practices and workflows to support operational processes.
* Provides project implementation and post-implementation support for ITSM initiatives
* Coordinates ITSM project efforts or work tasks that may include integrating the work of other IT professional staff, student technicians, and applicable vendors.
* Evaluates progress during ITSM project stages; and modifies work schedule and tools utilized to meet project requirements.
Develops and experiments with new ideas, techniques, and applications to increase job productivity and efficiency.
Keeps abreast of advances in information technology and assess the feasibility of incorporating into project plans and specifications.

Possession of a pertinent baccalaureate educational degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field and 4 years of progressively responsible professional information technology experience with responsibilities for information technology service management and project management, of which 2 years of the experience must have been comparable in scope and complexity to the next lower payband in the University of Hawai'i broadband system;
or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.Considerable working knowledge of information technology service management and project management as demonstrated by the broad knowledge and understanding of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving information technology concepts, principles and methodologies.
Considerable working knowledge and understanding of the broad technology, systems, hardware and software associated with information technology service management and project management.
Demonstrated ability to recognize a wide range of intricate problems, use reasoning and logic to determine accurate causes, and apply principles and practices to determine, evaluate, integrate, and implement practical and thorough solutions in an effective and timely manner.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
If applicable, for supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.
Experience implementing information technology service management practices using relevant information technology frameworks and standards.
Considerable experience managing, developing, and supporting an information technology service management platform, e.g. Team Dynamix, Cherwell, Service Now, etc.
Considerable knowledge of ITIL or similar service management framework.
Knowledge of project management principles, terminology, and methodologies.
Ability to work a variable work schedule and to work outside normally scheduled work hours including day, night, weekend, and/or holiday hours, as directed.
Experience implementing, managing, developing, and supporting service management practices in a higher education information technology environment.
