ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Virtual Environment Lead will manage and optimize enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments in support of DoD operations in Oahu, Hawaii. This role provides technical leadership for VDI administration, performance, security, and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Lead administration and sustainment of enterprise VDI environments

· Serve as the technical authority for one or more major VDI platforms

· Design, implement, and optimize VDI architectures for performance and scalability

· Ensure compliance with DoD 8140.03 and cybersecurity requirements

· Troubleshoot complex VDI issues and lead root-cause analysis

· Coordinate upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management

· Develop technical documentation, standards, and operating procedures

· Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, and systems teams

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· 4–6 years of experience administering and managing VDI environments

· Expertise in at least one major VDI platform (e.g., VMware Horizon, Citrix)

· Demonstrated advanced technical expertise or certification aligned with DoD 8140.03

· VDI-related certifications (e.g., VMware, Citrix) preferred

· Strong understanding of virtual infrastructure, storage, and networking

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience supporting classified or secure DoD environments

· Leadership experience in enterprise IT operations

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
