- * Performs technical advisement and problem resolution for local area network (LAN) and Windows-based and Apple hardware and software, including operating system (OS) management, installations, configurations and maintenance.
- * Researches, recommends, supports, tests, and maintains various software applications essential to the work and studies of University of Hawaii (UH) faculty, staff, and students.
- * Utilizes the Information Technology Services(ITS) ticket tracking system to ensure user requests, responses and incidents are addressed and tracked to closure in a timely and efficient manner.
- * Provides consultation to the UH Community in the selection of optimal hardware and software based on specified needs, and assist in initial implementation and application of selected solutions.
- * Develop test methodologies, complete quality assurance testing, and document new applications or new versions of software.
- * Prepares written documentation, procedures and standards to assist users the application of computer technology to their needs.
- * Assists with development, formulation, and documentation of operating procedures for the Client Services and Operations Center (CSOC).
- * Assists with username creation and password management issues for UH accounts.
- * Assists with the training of student personnel in CSOC operations.
- * Monitors the status, performance, and availability of essential production resources, including the UH network, enterprise systems, ITS Data Center facilities, and scheduled jobs.
- * Prepares communication to the University community regarding various ITS services, announcements, updates and issues.
- * Keeps current on statutes, policies, guidelines, and best practices related to individuals with disabilities and UH’s commitment to accessibility.
- * Collaborates with ITS information security staff to respond to reports of security policy violations, including remediation of those violations.
- * Keeps current on rapid developments and emerging technologies by researching articles in trade journals, periodicals, technical manuals, newsletters, etc. and by attending classes, conferences, presentations and self-directed study methods.
- * Other duties as assigned.
- Possession of a baccalaureate educational degree in Information & Computer Sciences or related field, and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional information technology experience with responsibilities for personal computer technical troubleshooting; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Functional knowledge of personal computers, mobile computing devices, and peripheral equipment demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply principles, concepts, methodology and terminology.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of technology, systems, hardware and software associated with online applications and information systems.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems in the area of online applications and information systems.
- Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.

- Knowledge of the limitations, capabilities, and uses for ITS supported computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.
- Demonstrന ability to speak, read, comprehend, interpret and write fluently in English.
- Ability to work outside normally scheduled work hours including day, night, weekend and/or holiday hours, as directed.
