Overview
Aloha! One of Hawaii's local, food‑service distributors is seeking a Network Administrator II. This person will report to the IT Manager and provide day‑to‑day network administration and troubleshooting support.
Responsibilities- Designs and implements network solutions including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
- Configures and supports Layer 3 routing protocols and secure site‑to‑site connections.
- Performs IOS upgrades, firmware patching, and lifecycle management of all network components.
- Maintains and optimizes VPNs, VLANs, and interoffice connectivity.
- Monitors network health, analyzes logs, and responds to system performance issues.
- Enforces and improves cybersecurity controls including firewalls, ACLs, and encryption.
- Supports compliance efforts with internal and external security standards (e.g., STIGs, 8570).
- Monitors threat vectors and assists with remediation planning and vulnerability management.
- Leads and contributes to infrastructure upgrade projects and new technology rollouts.
- Collaborates with internal departments and external vendors on deployment timelines.
- Administers Microsoft Teams Phone and assists with systems integration as needed.
- Serves as second‑level escalation for Help Desk issues.
- Mentors Network Administrator I and Help Desk staff.
- Assists in maintaining SOPs, documentation, and knowledge base content.
- Bachelor's Degree in Network Management or related field.
- Three to Five years of recent networking engineering or similar experience.
- Professional vendor specific certifications with Comptia, Cisco, Microsoft, and VMware may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Working knowledge with Cisco Routing/Switching/Firewall, Microsoft Teams Phone administration, Microsoft Azure/Entra, VMware vSphere, and related technologies.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts in a professional and persuasive manner.
This position requires the employee to reside on the island of Oahu and be available to work onsite in the office up to 5 days a week. Position hours are Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Also required to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to ensure uninterrupted computer access and cellular network support. Occasional work outside of normal business hours may be necessary when unexpected technical problems arise.
LocationPermanent position based out of Honolulu, HI.
Pay and Benefits- Pay range: $69,000.00 – $ per year.
