Business Internship

SUMMARYThe People Operations Intern supports the YMCA of Honolulu’s mission to strengthen community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility by assisting with core HR operations and compliance functions. This internship provides hands‑on experience in human resources administration, supporting a variety of operational and compliance‑related functions within the People Operations department. The intern will assist with maintaining organized records, ensuring documentation standards are met, and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
There may also be opportunities to explore and recommend tools or solutions that enhance internal tracking and workflow efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in compliance, HR systems, and operational efficiency within a nonprofit organization.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Interest in non‑profit HR.
- Ability to commit 20 hours a week.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Analytical mindset with interest in improving systems and processes.
