Position: Ops Mgr, Patient Accounts (Full-Time, 40, Day Shift)

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates, monitors, and manages the daily operations of assigned area(s). Works with designated staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of billing, cashiering, and patient account functions and activities as assigned.

Ensures functions and activities are performed in accordance with department procedures.

Ensures operations meet quality standards and established goals, objectives, and organizational initiatives.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting, pushing/pulling and carrying usual weight of 5 pounds up to 25 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.
  • Operates various office equipment, computer, fax, telephone, printer.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Exposed to heavy paper dust.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION SA. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years business school or college; or two (2) years experience in billing, collections, finance or financial services may substituted for the educational requirement.
B. EXPERIENCE
  • In addition to the educational requirement, four (4) years experience in an acute care hospital, preferably in admitting/registration or business services; OR four (4) years in finance or financial services experience.
  • One (1) year supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Experience to demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience in registration, scheduling, third party billing, or account follow-up may be required based on area of assignment.
