Supply and Equipment Specialist POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, Clinical Services or designee, a Supply and Equipment Specialist manages inventory, orders, tracks, and maintains supplies and equipment, ensuring operational needs are met by handling procurement, storage, distribution, and disposal while also performing record‑keeping, quality control, compliance checks, and troubleshooting for various assets, from office supplies to complex machinery. Key duties involve processing purchase orders, reconciling invoices, supporting maintenance, conducting inspections, managing property accountability, and providing technical assistance for equipment functionality and life cycle.
The role has a dotted‑line reporting to the Assistant Administrator to play a key role in staff training, resource management, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The specialist manages onsite inventory, Lawson Cloudsuite Perpetual Inventory and works closely with the Supply Chain Management department to follow proper purchasing protocols.
Minimum Education / Training / Licensure / Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Current BLS
One (1) year experience in materials management, central supply, or operating room.
Preferred Experience- Experience with high tech equipment and instrumentation used in clinical departments (e.g., orthopedics, open heart, general surgery, ophthalmology).
- Experience with perpetual inventory and IT supply management
- Critical thinking skills to troubleshoot supply delays, shortages, and issues.
- Inventory control systems, data entry, and property accountability.
- Understanding of procurement, logistics, and supply chain principles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks like lifting and coordinating.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with maintenance, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to maintain highly sensitive, confidential material.
- Ability to understand & follow complex instructions.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of anatomy, pathophysiology, current treatment methods.
- Provides hospitable customer service.
- Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
