Overview

Straub Benioff Medical Center, founded in 1921, includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians, Straub provides diagnoses and treatments across more than 32 medical specialties and is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital regularly incorporates new technologies and innovative practices in Hawai'i, including minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

Rehabilitation Services provides physical and occupational therapy to inpatients and outpatients across the full continuum of care, specializing in programs for people with physical and cognitive disabilities and injuries.

As a Patient Service Representative, you will help ensure Straub patients and their families receive warm, friendly, and considerate assistance at Rehabilitation Services. You will act as a liaison between patients and professional staff by handling clerical and reception duties and supporting a variety of administrative tasks.

• Interviewing, registering, admitting, updating, and creating patients’ medical records.
• Performing accurate and timely processing of all professional/technical fees generated by department providers.
• Cash handling and collection.
• Supporting clerical and reception responsibilities and assisting in a variety of administrative tasks within Rehabilitation Services.

• Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. One (1) year of clerical support in a health care setting or related experience. Basic computer skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: Basic medical terminology. Experience with EPIC. International Classification of Diseases 9th edition (ICD-9) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding certification.
